Guided Vehicle Parking System (GVPS)
The 'Guided Vehicle Parking System' is a solution to a growing car parking problem. This system enables vehicles to enter their desired destination into an in-vehicle device and, then they are allocated the nearest available car parking space to that destination. The driver is then guided to this allocated space by the in-vehicle device, as would be expected in any other vehicle guidance system.
The system runs on a MySQL database system, providing permanent data storage, the Sun Java Virtual Machine, providing cross-platform capabilities and Java RMI networking, providing reliable networking. These technoligies, combined with an advanced Map rendering system and an object oriented temporary data store system give the Group 1 GVPS everything you need to solve parking problems, wherever they may be!
